My first wedding

On Sunday we went to Tom and Noreen's wedding. They are Teme and Carole's best friends. It was at a lovely Italian restaurant. The ceremony was very nice, incorporating both Catholic and Jewish traditions. The food was also very delicious, and the music was nice. All in all, we had a marvelous time, and I enjoyed sharing the day with the bride and groom.

Outside during the ceremony...us kids didn't want to be quiet so we ducked out.

Angie and Freddie (Angie is Tom's daughter)

Baba, her friend Robert, and Lauren watching everyone come in

Mama and me watching the toasts

Teddy stayed inside the reception for about 5 seconds.

Mama helping me eat my bruschetta....all the tomatoes fell off!

Baba drinking something....we're still not sure what (no, really, it was coffee)

Lauren making a silly face!

Me too!

The bride was Jewish, the groom Italian....they did this one,
but we couldn't stay for the Horah, but we wish we had.....it would have been fun

Carmen(Carole's DIL, on rt) danced with Arlene(her sister, on lt)

The dancing

Carmen can really dance

One of the rare moments Teddy was actually inside actually at the wedding....here he is at the head table with Teme, Baba, and me.

Here I am outside with Baba...all the kids kinda fled outside when the music started

This is the reason Baba has a bad back

This is another reason too....

A visit from Tammy and JD

Tammy and JD came to visit us this past weekend. We had a lot of fun. We hung out, ate some southern food (yeah, I know, it makes a lot of sense to go north for southern food). We also went up to Kenosha, Wisconsin for JD's tournament, and ended up visiting the Jelly Belly factory....well it wasn't so much a factory as a warehouse. But it was fun, anyway. Thank you so much for coming to see me!!!!!

Here's Tammy and me playing Shu-shu Panda and Ducky

Tammy, Da, and me in line at Jelly Belly.
The line was longer than the tour, but we did get a lot of free candy.

They made us wear these awful paper hats

Here I am in mine.

Afterward, we ended up going to, of all places, this very fancy (at least from the outside) Goodwill, where we scored these FAB-ulous finds!!! Only 99 cents for the Bible Trivia. Be sure to check out Tammy's blog if you want to play.

Later on, we caught up with JD at the tournament.
He lost by one lousy point (because he is honest and refuses to cheat).

Here he is in action

Now you see me....

Now you don't!

I really hung on Tammy a lot...I like her a lot!

Even when I was on the ground I managed to hang on her ;)

On Sunday, we just hung out at our place. JD and Da talked politics. JD is getting his PhD in Political Science, so Da is always interested in his comments on the election.

The only picture of Da. There's none of Mama since she takes all the pictures!

Here I am making a trick on Tammy while she's reading me "If You Give a Cat a Cupcake"

Playing school time with Tammy. Thanks again for coming to see us. We had fun!

Our critters--update!

As many of you know, we feed the squirrels in our yard. Otherwise, they come up to our porch and pretty much knock on the door and demand food. (We also have a black walnut tree.)

Well, we also have a raccoon and a possum who have lived here longer than we have. Story goes, on the day Mama and Da moved in they were relaxing on the porch towards evening, and the raccoon came around from the backyard, startled, and looked at them like "what are you doing here?!" He has remained in the yard or nearby, and we see him every so often after dark so Mama just tolerates him, especially since she just found out that his back leg is totally lame, and he can barely walk.

Anyway, he came around one evening right at dusk and Mama threw some leftover chinese food out for him (for fun since I thought he was funny) and we discovered something far more, shall we say, interesting in the yard....a kitten. The kitten has been coming back. So now we are trying to feed the kitten to gain his trust so we can trap him in a few weeks and either tame him or neuter him and put him back outside. And in the meantime, here are a few pictures that Mama took. The possum is too scaredy to take a picture. He runs away as soon as we open the window, and there is NO WAY we are going outside to take a look at any of them.

Our kitten friend (any name suggestions?)

Mr. Raccoon aka Haku the Raccoon

He likes to look up at us when we open the window. He only has scary eyes in the picture, but we never ever try to get close to him. We didn't used to put cat food out, but now we know who was poaching all our tomatoes before they could turn from green to red. Darn raccoon!

The possum finally let Mama take a few pictures before he turned tail and ran. Meanwhile, Delmar, who was sitting on the windowsill, leaned over and bit her on the upper arm.

You can kind-of see his rat-tail in this picture....it's just like Clarence's!

After several minutes, he came back to see what was what and Mama got this picture of his face. See Tammy, kind-of like a cross between a rat, a ferret, and, I'm not sure what else. We don't like them much, but, hey, you know the story.

Teddy's Pool Party

Teddy had a pool party for his friends at school. He invited Lauren and me too. It was at this cool indoor swimming pool called Splash Landings. We swam, ate pizza and cake, and got goody bags at the end.

A good time was had by all!

Here is the birthday boy in his special hat (it has his name on it)

He really liked his cake

I ate lunch with Lauren

Here's Teddy with Lauren and his friend Carl. Teddy drank some Fresca so Carl asked him "what's in it." Teddy replied "It has calcium," but Lauren interrupted with "No, it's low-fat, Teddy." In the meantime, Mommy and Baba cracked up.

Teddy and the cake....he insisted that he have the numbers 4 and 8 on it. 8 is his favorite number, you know.

Happy birthday guy!

After the party was over, we stayed behind at the pool center and Teddy opened his presents. He was happy to open them, but a little less so when he realized that he could not keep them, as they are all being donated to needy children. However, he got over it after he realized that he could keep all the goody bag leftovers.

He sure loves Star Wars

Good old Wall-e

Excitement over something (I'm not sure what)
